Silvester Kasuku, MBS, CMILT, MKIP.
Silvester is the CEO of the African Centre for Transport, Infrastructure and Regional Integration (ACTIRI). The ACTIRI is a non-profit African continental Think Tank on Transport, Infrastructure and Regional Integration. Silvester has over 24 years wealth of experience and expertise in Transport, infrastructure and Regional Integration policy which he has gained through leadership and work experience in government, academia, research, consultancy and policy advisory services covering governments, private sector and development partners. Recently, Silvester served for 8 years as the Director General/ CEO of LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority (a state corporation of the government of Kenya, 2013 to 2021). Silvester steered the implementation of the LAPSSET Corridor’s 7 infrastructure Project Components, namely; Lamu Port, trans-boundary Railway and road networks (connecting Ethiopia and South Sudan, Airports, Resort Cities and Oil Pipelines. The LAPSSET Corridor Program is an African Union (AU) PIDA Project and Presidential Infrastructure Championship Initiative (PICI). Silvester also served as Secretary for Infrastructure at the former Office of the Prime Minister, Kenya. In the academia, Silvester is a Lecturer at the University of Nairobi, School of the Built Environment. In December 2012, H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya bestowed Silvester with the prestigious national honour and award of the ‘Moran of the Burning Spear’ (MBS) for the distinguished service he has rendered to the Kenyan nation. Silvester is a member of various Professional Societies, among them; Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT), Architectural Association of Kenya -Town Planners Chapter (AAK) and Kenya Institute of Planners – Transportation and Infrastructure Chapter (KIP). Silvester is published in both academic and professional journals.
